>> former marine is one of 40 vets taking part in the vehicles to tech hack-a-thon here at adobe system thursday san francisco. the program is the brainchild or katherine webster. she said she saw the need to provide transition help for vets who have hard time finding a job in the private sector with the skills they have. >> they can do any job with just a little training. >> she matched mentors with vets. former marine corps network engineer served two tours in afghan and -- afghanistan and one in iraq. >> four interviews and, we're sorry, you're not what we're looking for. >> he has been told his military trek nick cal training outdated and not transferable. while some veterans trying to find the job, others are left looking for a place to year. so this is about to open a new

veterans center. vets will soon be able to call this home. >> for as long as they want to, the rest of their life. it's permanent housing. >> he is the chief operating officer and says it's taken six years to make this a reality for homeless vets there more than 60,000 homeless vets in the u.s. ronald jones served six years in the army and has been homeless off and on for 12 years. soon he will move into the montana. >> the best veteran day gift i could get. >> joe and other vets will get medical care, counseling, camaraderie, and a police to -- place call home. the veteran common is the first housing for veterans to open in san francisco since 2000. they'll we holding an open house tomorrow from 11:00 to 3:00. reporting live, abc-7 news. >> ama: 100 homeless veterans

fromton anthonyys in the tenderloin took part in san san francisco's varps day -- veterans day parade. this year for the first time the parade began with hundreds of veterans on motorcycles. the parade began at 1:00 this morning and made its way done market street. organizers said the parade honors all soldiers, especially those who fought in afghanistan and iraq. >> the most important are the 10% to face the enemy eyeball to eyeball. they're the real heroes, and of course the win million that have been killed now. they're the heroes. >> nearly a thousand veteran were expected to attend the parade. ♪ >> ama: those who lost their lives serving their country, as well as those who turn to serve, were honored at golden gatele national cemetery. the event included music and a

peat trace quit his post went it was revealed he had an extramarital affair. details are becoming clearer tonight. here's a report. reporter: as a nation's top spy master, david petraeus must have known something about clandestine operations. why couldn't he keep his secret affair with his biographer, paula broad we were, undercover. it turned out their romance unrastled when a woman in florida received a strange and harassing e-mail from the author. kelly notified the fbi, began an information, worried the cia director's e-mail account had been compromised. what the bureau found was not compromised security but two people in a compromising position. described as, quote, human drama, including intimate exchanges between broad we were and petraeus.
